Ok I’ve never been so close to missing a birth as I was for this one! Ali is a first time mom and so we thought she’d labor for a long time. I went to the hospital to take a few detail shots and chatted for a few minutes. At that time she was 6 cm and 80 effaced. But she hadn’t progressed in the past four or five hours. So I left thinking I’d get a call in a couple of hours while we were in the movie. Well less than an hour later I got a call saying “We need you now!” I won’t tell you how fast I drove there but I’ll just tell you it was well over the speed limit! I got there and baby Todd was born within like 10 minutes! Everyone there was surprised by how quickly she progressed. She did amazing! I left with just enough time to get to the movie!
